The Comedic Tragedy of Drácula’s Summer Sojourn
Scene I: A Gloomy Castle, Late at Night
Enter Drácula, soliloquizing, with a heavy heart.
Drácula:
Oh, woe is me! A thousand years I’ve roamed,
In shadows deep, my heart alone has moaned.
My daughter, Mavis, with love so divine,
Bestows upon me a gift—a cruise, how fine!
But what is this? A vessel on the sea?
A floating prison of merriment, not for me!
Scene II: The Cruise Ship, Aboard the Monster Cruiser
Enter Mavis, with a sparkle in her eye.
Mavis:
Father, cheer! Embrace this chance for glee,
A summer holiday, you shall see!
With monsters galore and fun to be had,
Cast off your gloom; it cannot be so bad!
Drácula:
(grumbling)
Aye, what folly! To dance with the sun,
I, a creature of night, should rather run!
Yet, alas, thy joy doth tug at my heart,
I shall join this voyage, though I dread the start.
Scene III: The Deck of the Ship, a Dance of Monsters
Enter the crew of monsters, dancing merrily.
Drácula:
(muttering)
What madness is this? A waltz with the undead?
Yet, lo! Who is that? A beauty, with grace widespread!
Captain Ericka, with charm and wit so keen,
I feel a strange stirring; could it be love, unseen?
Ericka:
(with a sly smile)
Ah, Count, your fangs are not the only allure,
But methinks, dear vampire, there’s more to your core.
A secret I bear, dark as the ocean’s depth,
For I am kin to Van Helsing, with a mission adept!
Drácula:
(shocked)
What treachery is this? A hunter in disguise?
To steal my heart, then wield a dagger, oh, the lies!
But wait! My heart, it beats anew,
Can love conquer fate? What shall I do?
Scene IV: The Final Confrontation
Enter the crew, ready for battle.
Mavis:
(determined)
Father, fear not! For love shall prevail,
We’ll thwart the hunter, we shall not fail!
Together, as monsters, we’ll stand as one,
For family, for love, our battle’s begun!
Drácula:
(with newfound resolve)
Aye, my dear Mavis, your spirit ignites,
Together we’ll fight, through the darkest nights!
And you, Captain Ericka, shall not be my foe,
For love’s true power can vanquish the woe!
Scene V: A New Dawn, Love Conquers All
All monsters unite, the ship sails into the horizon.
Ericka:
(smiling)
Forgive my lineage, dear Count, I implore,
For love is a tempest, and I now adore!
Let us chart a new course, through the waves of fate,
For together, we’ll forge a love that’s first-rate!
Drácula:
(with joy)
Then let us sail forth, into the bright unknown,
For in this summer’s voyage, love has brightly shone!
A toast to family, to monsters, and glee,
In this grand Hotel Transylvania, forever we’ll be!
Exeunt omnes, laughter echoing into the sunset.
